KEEPS ON SHINING

Because of you  Bohol: At long last, it is no longer a dream but a reality, the Full Time Catechists of the Diocese of Parañaque filled with mixed emotions while packing things for a four day stay in Taloto Tagbilaran Bohol for their Annual Retreat as the school year is about to begin with Rev. Fr. Gerard Mascariña, as the Retreat Master.  It was an unforgetable experience for everyone, since we were not only spiritually filled but treated like a King and Queen as we’ve cruises along the LOBOC River while being fed with delicious and savory meals and be awed in wonder of God’s great creative hands looking at the top while viewing the magnificent site of CHOCOLATE HILLS and cherished the caring hands of all Boholanos, since they’ve preserved the richness of their culture both in its SOCIAL, SPIRITUAL, and GOD’s given  nature.  And of course, this dream will not be a reality without the generous support of some parish priests in our diocese namely: Fr. August Pulido, Fr. Jerry  Habunal, Fr. Ian Gabinete, and Fr. Ernie Joaquin…Thank you so much, may the good Lord bless you a thousand folds in your chosen vocation!

Team building awakens the child within

Headed by our priest’s Chairman, Rev. Fr. Bong Gino, our group have our 2nd Team Building activity and this time, we’ve befriended the child within us in the cold swimming pool of Mrs. Tan’s beautiful abode through the benevolent support of Rev. Fr. Gerard Mascariña. The different water activities set and given before us, released the group’s stress and pressure as we’ve laugh and giggled to the top of our lungs as if we’re all free as a bee on that day, yet ONCE A CATECHIST YOU WILL BE A CATECHIST FOREVER, cause, DOCTRINE, MORAL and WORSHIP is still with us, as we’ve answered some questions in relation to Church Teachings…and the winner is …Marilyn Mencede…Congratulations, Ate Marie!!!

We are looking forward for the next Team Building, wondering where will be the next site, AIR or SPACE? Thank you for sharing your endless resourcefulness with us to awaken our commitment as Catechist by touching the most vulnerable part of our being… the CHILD WITHIN US.

Art is for everyone…

The Full Time Catechist and the Volunteer Catechists of the Diocese of Parañaque,  set a special date with Sr. Zoila Lora, a MCST, who shared with as her expertise in making visual aids thru finger Puppetry. Such know-how is a great help for presenting the Word of God to the children, a necessary tool to start Catechesis in Public Schools, especially for Grades  1 to 3.  It was a fun-filled day for all of us, as we’ve travelled down the road of our elementary years doing this paper art works. Thank you, Sr. Zoila for sharing your expertise with us.
