Commission on Youth
Youth Commission looks into the formation and training of catechist youth animators. It prepares a thorough program for Youth Ministry which aims to form Christian Leaders by giving them opportunity to deepen their spirituality into service and worship and enhance their skills in peer ministry. It shall be composed of the Youth Commissioner, the Ministry Assistant for Youth and the Youth Animators from the different Diocesan Catechetical Ministry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attends all Youth Commission meetings,
- Reviews and plans CFAM Youth Ministry Program yearly
- Reports regularly to the CFAM Administrative Council
- Submits annual formation program and budget to CFAM Secretariat
- Coordinates with Diocesan Area Coordinator with regards to the formation of catechist youth ministers
- Provides formation/training for new catechists youth ministers
- Observes and supervises catechists youth ministers’ program and activities
- Follows-up catechist youth ministers regarding their training and formation,
- Provides time for consultation with catechist youth ministers.
Resolutions 2010 – 2011:
a. Art and Roque will request Fr. Jade Licuanan, the Minister for Youth Affairs for a talk concerning the youth commission. They will clarify if the youth being ministered by CFAM is the same youth of MYA.
b.Instead of making new programs, Art and Roque will get the programs published by Msgr. Soc (the Minister of MYA then), done by his think-tank core group from Sr. Lydia Collado, RSCJ. They have to look for the complete copies.
SY2010-2011:
1. During CFAM Administrative Council Meeting on August 12, 2010 at Nazarene Catholic School, the Commission presented the Modules focuses on these three: ALAB, PINTIG and BAGTAS.
2. September 11, 2010 - First Meeting
A. On the first Meeting of the commission held at the Immaculate Conception Parish in the Diocese of Cubao at 9:00 am to 1:00pm, the revision of the modules on Alab, Pintig and Bagtas was discussed. The tasks were delegated to the catechist-youth animators. Submission will be on the first week of October, 2010. But it was extended until October 23 as per agreed upon during the second meeting of the commission on October 9, 2010.
B. The Re- orientation on the Vision and Mission, Rationale, Goals, Stages of Formation and Characteristics of Youth Ministry were discussed, too.
3. BIDAHAN:
The first Meeting of Bidahan was held in Ateneo University on September 11, 2010 then on October 9, 2010 in Paco Catholic School.
BIDAHAN 2010 – BIDA: Be the Change
“Bida: Be the Change: Youth Camp seeks to give a venue for the Filipino youth from the different sectors around the country to come together and combat the apathy and cynicism that infects many of the youth, especially when asked to contribute to nation-building. The youth camp aims to inspire the youth and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to lead their fellow youth towards helping and building the nation. Furthermore, it seeks to prod them to proceed to concrete action for positive change as they go back to their schools and communities of origin.
Date: November 27 [9:00 am] to November 28 [3:00 pm]
Venue: Assumption Antipolo Inc. Campus
The CFAM participants are youth from the parishes and the five hundred [500] students, preferably 3rd and 4th year public high school.
Theme: Earth – Keeper, Ethical Leader
- Catechists will be assigned as Facilitators. Facilitators meeting will be held on November 6, 2010 at De La Salle University, Taft Manila from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
- Registration fee for BIDAHAN is Php 250.00. But the 500 participants from public school will be sponsored by Ninoy-Cory Aquino Foundation.
- For the public school participants, they will pay the amount of Php 220.00 for their foods [includes 2 snacks, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, 1 lunch] but they have to bring their own lunch for the first day.
- T-shirt will be given to public school participants for free.
Transportation will be provided by BIDAHAN Organizers.
